You can make these with regular kielbasa. For a healthier faire, I use turkey kielbasa.

Ingredients
- 1 large onion
- 2 pounds 1 smoked turkey kielbasa and 1 regular turkey kielbasa
- 2- 32 ounce jar sauerkraut
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
- Slice 1 onion into thin strips and caramelize. Carmelized onion: heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add a dash of salt and pepper and 1/4 tsp sugar.
- Drain sauerkraut.
- Slice kielbasa into 1-inch lengths.
- Combine water, cider and brown sugar.
- Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
- Cook on high 6 hours.
