You can make these with regular kielbasa. For a healthier faire, I use turkey kielbasa.

Instructions
  1. Slice 1 onion into thin strips and caramelize. Carmelized onion: heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add a dash of salt and pepper and 1/4 tsp sugar.
  2. Drain sauerkraut.
  3. Slice kielbasa into 1-inch lengths.
  4. Combine water, cider and brown sugar.
  5. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
  6. Cook on high 6 hours.
