I use to request Mom to make this for my birthday. It is still one of my favorites.

Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches, stir together flour, granulated sugar, 2 tbsp cocoa, the baking powder and salt.
  3. Mix in milk, oil, and vanilla with fork until smooth. Spread evenly in pan.
  4. Sprinkle with brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Pour hot water over batter.
  5. Bake 40 mins.
  6. Let stand 15 mins; cut & spoon squares onto dessert dishes. Top with ice cream and then spoon the fudge sauce on top.
